1. Solar Photovoltaic Modules
Solar modules mounted on the roof of your property will convert sunlight into DC (Direct Current) power.
The solar DC power is sent to a device called an inverter which converts the DC power from the solar photovolatic modules to AC (Alternating Current) power that is the same as that being sent to you from the electric utility grid.
3. Electrical Loadcenter Panel
The AC power then goes from the inverter to your electrical loadcenter panel. This power from the electrical loadcenter panel is distributed to the electrical loads in your home.
4. Electric Utility Meter
When your solar power system produces power in excess of the current use, the excess power will flow into the electric utility power grid through your electric meter. This will cause the dual meter (provided after installation of your solar power system by the electric utility co.) to record credits with the electric utility company.
5. Electric Utility Grid
The electric utility grid automatically provides your electricity when needed – during the day when your energy use exceeds your solar power system’s production and at night when your solar power system is off.
